  • Position Summary:

    UAF Student Health and Counseling Center welcomes applications from graduate students who are motivated to join a team of professionals who are committed to delivering quality medical and counseling services to UAF students. We seek applicants with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and dependability to help us carry out this mission. This position entails assisting students with scheduling medical and counseling appointments, coordinating student healthcare with professional service providers, answering inquiries about SHCC services, and participating in health, safety, and wellness outreach and promotion efforts.

    Duties:

    10Documentation of services. -Document care coordination services in SHCC's electronic medical record system.Essential

    20Outreach. -Actively participate in SHCC outreach efforts to promote campus- wide health, safety, and wellness. -Coordinate outreach efforts with SHCC staff, UAF stakeholders and departments, and community organizations. -Update and manage SHCC's social media and website.Essential

    30Care Coordination. -Work with local students to connect them to resources within SHCC, UAF, and the local community. -Investigate and provide resource and referral services for local and distal students. -Assist with coordinating care between medical and mental health providers within UAF as well as outside of UAF.Essential

    40Counseling and Medical Service Receptionist. -Greet students contacting SHCC for appointments. -Schedule appointments in SHCC's electronic medical record system. -Respond to students with emergent concerns and connect them to providers efficiently. -Provide information about SHCC services to students, parents, staff, faculty, community members, and other healthcare providers outside of the university setting.Essential

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Awarded bachelor's degree and pursuing a graduate degree at UAF, preferably in a human services field. Have an understanding of confidentiality and professional ethics. Be able to collaborate and work in a diverse environment. Good organizational and communication skills are necessary.

    Preferred Experience:

    Experience working in a counseling center, medical clinic, educational environment, or customer service position.

    Required Education or Training:

    Bachelor's degree

    Salary Information:

    This position is up to 20 hours per week, hours as demand warrants. Salary starts at $18 per hour. This position is hourly and does not offer health insurance or tuition waivers.
