Description

The University of Mary Hardin Baylor's College of Humanities and Sciences is seeking a visiting, non-tenure-track faculty member in Biology for the 2023-2024 academic year. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

The Biology program offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology, Biology with several pre-health professions emphases (pre-Medical/pre-Dental, pre- Veterinary Medicine, pre-Pharmacy, pre-Physician Assistant, pre-Health Professions, and pre-Clinical Lab Science), and Biology with Teacher Certification. The Department also provides instructional support to other degree programs and contributes to the core curriculum.

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 22,000 in the heart of central Texas. Nearby cities are Temple (5 miles), Waco (45 miles), Austin (65 miles), San Antonio (130 miles) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (130 miles). Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.

Specific Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in introductory and advanced biological science. Visiting instructors typically will teach 15 hours per semester.

Qualifications: • A master's degree in Biology or related field (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in a biological science field) is required. A doctorate in Biology or related field is preferred. • Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential. • Must be an active, and committed Christian.
