School Harvard Graduate School of Design Department/Area Urban Planning and Design Position Description

The Urban Planning program at Harvard University GSD seeks part-time studio instructors to teach in core planning studios for masters-level students. These are team-taught courses that meet for eight hours per week in either the fall or spring semesters. Applicants should understand general planning principles and processes but can have specific expertise in a variety of areas of interest in planning such as transportation, housing, economic development, engagement processes, data analytics, environment, resilience, and urban development.

Basic Qualifications

A graduate, masters-level professional degree in urban and regional planning or a closely related field is required. Applicants should have a minimum of five years of professional experience in urban planning and policy or a PhD in planning or a closely related field. Experience in teaching is valued but not required.
