DescriptionThe Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture in the School of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University invites applications for up to three tenured/tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Middle Grade and High School Education depending on qualifications.
The department has a particular need in Mathematics Education and Science Education. We seek vibrant and innovative thought leaders to join our dynamic faculty.
Responsibilities of this position are to maintain a high quality and focused research and funding agenda that has achieved or will achieve national/international significance, model research-based pedagogical practices in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, effectively mentor graduate/undergraduate students, work collaboratively with faculty within our department and across campus, and contribute to activities and initiatives in the Department, School, and University.
This is a full time nine-month academic appointment beginning August 1, 2023.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
• An earned doctorate in education with depth of study and research in a content subject matter with scholarship focused on middle grade or high school education • Publications in high-quality outlets • Evidence of a well-defined and focused research agenda • Strong record of, or potential for, external funding • Completion of teacher certification through an accredited program • Commitment to research-based pedagogical practices • Minimum of two years full-time secondary school teaching experience • Experience teaching undergraduate teaching methods courses • Understanding of current issues and trends impacting education • Commitment to Texas A&M's core values: Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect, and Selfless Service • Unique talents and contributions to the department and school.
