DescriptionThe Department of Psychological and Brain Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University, seeks an outstanding scholar at Professor level with tenure for a full-time 9 month academic appointment starting Fall of 2023. This recruitment is part of the College Transformational Hiring program. We are interest in scholars conducting research in the areas related to neuroscience, with a focus on sleep's role in cognition, specifically lifespan changes in sleep-dependent cognitive processing. This position will complement a world-class core of neuroscience researchers, many of whom participate in cross-cutting research concentrations in aging-related changes in sleep which contributes to changes in memory and emotional processing. The successful candidate must exhibit a strong record of research productivity as demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, grants, and outward-facing projects that are award winning. This candidate will also be required to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of expertise. All tenured and track-tenured faculty members are expected to make significant contributions in the areas of scholarly research/creative work, teaching, and service.
QualificationsA Ph.D. in psychology, or a closely related field is required. Applicants should have an outstanding record of research achievement, evidence of extramural research funding, and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
