Position Title: Temporary Study Abroad Coordinator Requisition Number: 0206073974 Location New York City Position Type: Administrative Position Status: Temporary/Seasonal Department: Provost/Provost's Office Responsibilities:

The New School's Temporary Study Abroad Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordination of the university's study abroad operations. Reporting to the Director of Education Abroad and Global Engagement in Enrollment Management and Strategic Partnerships (EMSP), the coordinator is a member of the EMSP team tasked with advising and assisting students through the study abroad process. The Temporary Study Abroad Coordinator will assist in growing the office's programs and in strengthening its relationships within the university.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as primary study advisor for the university, including managing all aspects of the study abroad application process, and provide a regular advising schedule for all students.
  • Manage Terra Dotta (Go Abroad) application system
  • Serve as primary liaison with various University offices (Advising, Admissions, ISS, Student Financial Services, Registrar, Housing, etc.) and with external partners for mobility students, including training relevant colleagues on study abroad programs and functions of the study abroad office.
  • Assists Asst Director of Global Engagement in marketing of events and development of unique content through social media.
  • Develop, arrange, and lead information sessions for all TNS study abroad students, including virtual based events such as study abroad program webinars.
  • Additional tasks and special projects as required.
  • WORK MODE

  • Hybrid/Split – Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and may also work some of the time remotely.
  • HOURLY RATE

  • $25 – $28 per hour
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in international education programs or study abroad in a college or university setting
  • Knowledge of Terra Dotta study abroad application management system
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate and communicate with diverse populations of students, staff, faculty, parents, and international partners.
  • High level of proficiency in Google Drive, MS Office, and on-line database systems.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and follow-through on multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, efficiency and poise.
  • High level of cultural competence and the ability to communicate well with a diverse population of partners.
