To assist teaching and supervising chemistry laboratories.

Job Duties

To assist teaching and supervising chemistry laboratories.

Teaching assistants must be present for the entire lab period.

Teaching assistants will monitor the lab for safety and ensure that the required materials are present in the lab for students completing the experiment.

Teaching assistants must demonstrate knowledge of the experiment and answer student questions.

Teaching assistants will record attendance, check pre-lab submissions and help grade assignments.

Teaching assistants may be asked to give short presentations on laboratory concepts.

Required Qualifications

Must be a current CSS student

Upper division science major who has completed CHM 1120.

Strong organizational skills and time management skills.

Job functions require sitting, standing, and walking during the lab session.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference is given to students that qualify for federal student employment.

Upper division chemistry or biochemistry major
