To assist teaching and supervising chemistry laboratories.

Job Duties

  • To assist teaching and supervising chemistry laboratories.
  • Teaching assistants must be present for the entire lab period.
  • Teaching assistants will monitor the lab for safety and ensure that the required materials are present in the lab for students completing the experiment.
  • Teaching assistants must demonstrate knowledge of the experiment and answer student questions.
  • Teaching assistants will record attendance, check pre-lab submissions and help grade assignments.
  • Teaching assistants may be asked to give short presentations on laboratory concepts.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Must be a current CSS student
  • Upper division science major who has completed CHM 1120.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Job functions require sitting, standing, and walking during the lab session.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference is given to students that qualify for federal student employment.
  • Upper division chemistry or biochemistry major
  • Special Instructions to Applicants
