  • About This Opportunity

The objective of this work plan is to analyse requirements and develop upgrades for the existing Configuration Management Database (CMDB), known as ServiceView, to ensure it meets the requirements of the Systems and Services upgrade program and the organisation more broadly.

Known internally as the Senior Principal Analyst Programmer, you will work with ITS teams and the broader UQ community to examine business processes and uses of the CMDB and deliver the necessary upgrades. UQ is in the process of implementing a number of service and architecture management tools and this role will define the areas where development of ServiceView is beneficial, what functions should move to other applications, and how to improve automation and processes to ensure information remains current.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    · Project Initiation: Conduct a project kick-off meeting with key stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.

  • Identify and engage relevant stakeholders, including ITS teams and users of the CMDB, particularly service management, architecture, and operational teams.

  • Establish communication channels, project governance, and define roles and responsibilities.

  • · Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with teams within ITS and the broader UQ community to understand the current business processes and uses of the existing CMDB.

    · Upgrade Planning and Design: Based on the gathered requirements, define the upgrade plan and timeline.

    · Development and Testing: Execute the development and implementation of the CMDB upgrades.

    · Deployment and Training: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to plan and execute the deployment of the upgraded CMDB.

    · Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Document the upgraded CMDB, including its functionalities, configurations, and integration points.

    · Post-Implementation Review and Support and Project Closure.

    This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to 31st March 2025

At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,975 - $122,176, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $127,500 - $142,946 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.
