In this position

The Ford Global Electrified Powertrain Team is a growing team committed to envisioning and creating simple, thoughtful, enjoyable, and compelling product experiences for our customers. As a team player, you will work on the cutting- edge technologies of EV and create impact by collaborating across the EV organization.

We are looking for an EMC Supplemental to work on Traction Inverter EMC design and investigation for Ford electrified vehicles (EV). You will work closely with inverter design teams on EMC design, analysis, and validation for Traction Inverter.

This is an hourly-supplemental role that will last for 12 weeks.

Responsibilities

What you'll do

  • Predict and diagnose inverter system EMC noise emission through modeling and
  • experimental investigation.

    Qualifications

    You'll have

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of EMC theory
  • 2+ years of experience on EMC design and analysis. Proficiency in circuit and multi-physics FEA simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS, Saber, Spice, etc.)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience on EMC/EMI measurement and troubleshooting. Proficiency in test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, EMI receiver, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
  • Even better, you may have

  • Ph.D. (or Ph.D. student) in Electrical Engineering with specialty in EMC
  • 3+ years of experience on EMC design and modeling
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience on EMC measurement and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge and experience on power electronics converter design and development is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience on automotive electronics and EMC standards is another plus
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn and manage multiple tasks
