The Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute seeks applications for a full time Project Manager to manage the EPSRC/BBSRC funded interdisciplinary Supergen Bioenergy hub until the end of the current extension period which finishes on 31 October 2023. Please note that a continuation proposal is under review currently and there may be a chance to prolong the appointment once this is approved.

The Supergen Bioenergy Hub project manager is responsible for the overall administration of this large collaborative project, providing support and management to the Principal Investigator of the project and the project partners on the management and administration of the £6M Supergen bioenergy hub, a large collaborative project incorporating 6 academic and 14 non- academic (industry and policy) research partners. Duties l include legal and financial management of the consortium, planning, implementation and monitoring of research progress. This will require facilitation and minutingof regular online management meetings and other workshops and meetings at locations in the UK, preparation of reports and coordination of the interactions of partners to facilitate project objectives.

Knowledge of the energy sector, climate change, environment and bioenergy will be required to carry out the role, but can be developed during the post with evidence of appropriate aptitude/enthusiasm.

A PRINCE2 Project Management qualification or equivalent experience would be preferred.

The post holder is expected to autonomously progress project activities (including with external links) without supervision between meetings with the PI. Objectives will be agreed and direction provided, but decision making on procurement, engagement and practicalities will be the responsibility of the post holder.
