Simulation Software Engineer – Motorsport Competition

Description

Hybrid - Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time. This position requires an employee to be onsite 2-3 times per week.

The Role

We are seeking a Simulation Software Engineer to aid in the development of our simulation toolchain in GM Motorsports. You will help develop the complete toolchain for a standalone simulation tool, starting from R&D to project planning through to implementation of both back and front end. Using software best practices, you will help define test procedures for vehicles on track to collect the required data to validate existing models. You will be required to deliver all projects to the highest standards, on time and within budget. You must have experience in using Dymola and Modelica , deploying models via the FMI standard, and have passion for crafting highly accurate and numerically efficient models. Position is open to international hiring and remote work for qualified candidates.

What You'll Do

  • Play a key role in simulation development and implementation of a wider tool chain

  • Participate in bringing state of the art modeling and simulation to our tools

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related subject

  • 7 + years of highly validated experience in design or testing gained within a motorsport organization

  • NASCAR, IndyCar, F-1 experience

  • Knowledge of using Dymola/Modelica in a simulation toolchain

  • Experience with Concurrent or dSpace Hardware Real-Time Systems

  • Excellent knowledge of: Java, C/C++, SQL, Modelica

  • Ability to multi-task in a multifaceted, constantly evolving environment, bringing a strong work ethic and integrity; able to work a flexible schedule

  • What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related subject

  • Knowledge and experience in tire modeling, construction, testing, and validation

  • Knowledge of FMI standard and deploying FMU's in co-simulation and model exchange
