  • Role Overview

    The Service Technician is an integral part of the team responsible for providing first-class service and diagnostics for our electric vehicles. This position requires an experienced service professional with a solid background and firsthand experience in electric vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.

    Our ideal candidate has a passion for and deep understanding of the latest EV and OTA technologies. You will be able to collaborate with aftersales teams in a dynamic, demanding environment to fix the problem the first time and achieve an elevated level of customer satisfaction.     Responsibilities

  • Performs vehicle diagnostics, "Fix It Right the First Time" repairs, and manual and over-the-air software updates at a Fisker workshop and/or port of entry.

  • Avoid repeat repairs and repurchase cases by understanding customer complaints and following proper service procedures to ensure high customer satisfaction.

  • Assist in the preparation and validation of detailed service repair manuals, service bulletins, technical and parts information, customer service and owner communications, etc.

  • Immediately identify and report complex technical problems encountered in the field.

  • Assist Mobile Master Technicians in low service capacity situations to ensure optimal customer service and quick repair times.

  • Assist in root cause analysis, identification of latest trends, troubleshooting and preparation of appropriate reports.

  • Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • Completed vocational training as a motor vehicle mechatronics technician or comparable training.

  • 4+ years of professional experience in the above-mentioned area of responsibility.

  • Experience with battery electric vehicles and good knowledge in handling diagnostic equipment.

  • Certification for work on high-voltage systems.

  • Knowledge of ECU troubleshooting; CAN/LIN/i/Body Bus, LVDS, etc.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships.

  • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency.

  • Efficient in managing multiple priorities, organizing workload and meeting deadlines.

  • Punctual and dependable.

  • Excellent work ethic and willingness to cooperate.

  • Willingness to learn innovative technologies.

  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required.

  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet deadlines and company objectives.

  • Proven experience in dealing with customers, experience as an automotive service advisor is an advantage.

  • Ability to educate other colleagues on technical topics.

  • Expected Salary Range: $19.59 to $54.56 per hour.

    Additional compensation: Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

    Benefits: Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.

    The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, considering the wide variety of factors listed above.

Launched in 2016 and based in Southern California, Fisker Inc. is the successor to Fisker Automotive, which produced the Fisker Karma. Fisker Inc. is developing the Fisker Ocean, an electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) with an estimated range of 300–350 miles (480–560 km), with production expected to begin in late 2022. Until 2021, Fisker was working on the development of solid-state battery technologies that could enable as much as 500 mi (800 km) of range with a 1 minute charge.
