Position Overview

This position will provide comprehensive engineering support to Proterra's Product Support and Warranty Manager and other site leadership team members. This position will provide release engineering for our product's field service. This includes creation and administration of our service parts Bill of Material (BOM) for our Transit and portions of our Proterra Powered segments. The position is part of the Product Support Engineering team based in Greenville, SC.

About the Role – You will:

  • Create and maintain our service parts BOMs, feeding our parts and supply chain teams
  • Interact in all aspects of the product lifecycle: new product and sustaining engineering
  • Drive the service parts supersession / obsolescence strategy
  • Own the service engineering elements in our engineering change management process
  • Interact with operations and supply chain and directly with vendors to execute the job functions
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • You will report to the Product Support and Warranty Manager and collaborate with other team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and other manufacturing facility in Greenville, SC.

    • About You:

  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills.

    • Your Experience Includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering required
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in this or similar role
  • Additional OEM engineering and/or service engineering in the transportation market desired.
  • Experience in commercial vehicles – required
  • Desired experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, thermal systems, HVAC, actuators and sensors, vehicle systems
  • Understanding of engineering release processes, service parts vs OEM engineering

    • Location: Greenville, SC

    Travel: 5-15%
