Senior Technical Product Owner

Description This is a Hybrid position within our DBTT Organization. The role will

allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. This position requires an employee to be onsite 2-3 times per month.

The Role:

The Senior Technical Product Owner is accountable for building and maintaining the relationship with GM Premium Import Durant Guild business teams located in China. They are responsible for building relationships, eliciting requirements, writing features and user stories, defining digital product roadmaps, creating quarterly product delivery plans, and serve as the ultimate Technical Product Subject Matter Expert for our development teams. Our Direct To Consumer digital ecosystem includes Mobile App, WeChat Mini Programs, COTS products, as well as several custom built Java/Javascript applications.

What You'll Do:
  • Serves as the requirements liaison between the business stakeholders and our technology teams.

  • Contribute to the definition of the product vision, strategy, and roadmaps based on defined business needs and development capacity.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, engineering, and technology development to ensure product goals and cross product priorities are aligned.

  • Develop technical product requirements at the User Story level including any needed data flow or sequence diagrams and well defined acceptance criteria. Lead requirement refinement ceremonies with the development teams.

  • Maintain product backlogs and manage product development workflow based on prioritized features based on business value, need, and technical feasibility.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies for digital product development including daily stand-up, requirement refinement, sprint planning, sprint demo, and sprint retro.

  • Define and track key metrics using OKRs and KPIs to measure product success and inform future decisions.

  • Communicate product development updates, progress, and delivery plans to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, customers, and partners.

  • Continuously iterate and improve digital products based on business input and business goals.

  • Assist with mentorship and development of junior team members

  • Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree required and 5+ years of end-to-end Product Management experience: product strategy, roadmap definition, prioritization, and delivery.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

  • Demonstrated cross functional collaboration and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work off hours (early mornings/early evenings) in collaboration with business partner in China

  • In-depth understanding of Digital Product Owner fundamentals, including leading Business Requirement elicitation, documenting Epics, features, and user stories and creating Digital Product artifacts like sequence diagrams

  • Action oriented and ability to present information for decision-making purposes with little to no direction

  • Technical savvy to support a high performing software development team

  • What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • MBA or equivalent experience

  • Previous Technical Product development experience

  • Previous experience building systems for eCommerce or frontend customer facing applications

  • Previous experience building Mobile Applications

  • Ability to read and speak Mandarin is a plus
