Identify risk areas and provide advise for continuous improvements to mitigate risks related to workplace health and safety (WHS) Promote and support a safe working environment Work alongside a passionate and collaborative team The Role Continuing, Full Time Level 6 - $82,846 to $89,610 pa (plus 17% superannuation) Wagga Wagga As the Senior Technical Officer, you will be coordinating a number of core functions that underpin technical work across a wide variety of disciplines. The position will provide significant support to the Faculty Executive Officer and Technical Team Managers, particularly in the areas of work health and safety, legislative compliance and equipment procurement and maintenance. To be successful you will have: Experience in work health and safety and risk management in a laboratory or similar environment. Experience in preparing risk assessments and safe work procedures, and proven ability in the safe use, handling and disposal of hazardous substances and dangerous goods. Experience in organising and maintaining data and records. Strong capacity to maintain accuracy, meet deadlines and follow instructions and procedures. Proven ability to work independently and also work collaboratively within a team. A relevant degree, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through other combination of education, training and/or experience.
