The Division of Health Research (DHR) within Lancaster University's Faculty of Health and Medicine is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Associate to work on an 18-month project funded by Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT) and join an innovative department with a high quality research active environment offering a range of postgraduate courses.

You will play a key role in developing an understanding of treatment pathways for military veterans with co-occurring alcohol use disorders (AUD) and common mental disorders (CMD) and will be based in the Division of Health Research (DHR) within Lancaster University's Faculty of Health and Medicine, specifically working in the Spectrum Centre for Mental Health Research. You will work with Dr Laura Goodwin and Professor Steven Jones from DHR, as well as collaborators from the University of Manchester, King's College London, Cardiff University, and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust Military Veterans' Service.

This research will help us to understand how treatment can be improved for veterans who have co-occurring CMD and AUD and will develop clinical and service user recommendations with strong involvement from veterans who have lived experience of these health problems. We are looking to recruit someone to this exciting role who has relevant experience of mental health or alcohol (or related) research, with quantitative and qualitative research skills, experience of working with third sector and community organisations and of public involvement in research. The post holder maybe required to travel across the North West, and be based substantively at Health Innovation One, Lancaster University.

Lancaster University provides university bus services making it convenient for the students and employees to commute. Further, the M6 motorway is only a five minutes' drive from the campus.     The academic structure of the university consists of undergraduate degree programs, postgraduate courses, research, and doctoral level programs. Some other noble laureates of the university are Roger Ashton-Griffiths (actor), Andrew Brooke Miller (Novelist), Catherine Jane Smith (a member of British Labour Party), Lucy Jane Briers (actor), Andy Serkis (actor and director), Bruce Sewell (former counsel of Apple).
