    About the Role:

    The Assessment Service within the Academic Registry provides a challenging environment for self-motivated individuals seeking to further develop their professional careers. You will advise academic staff on the interpretation of ARU's Academic Regulations and will be responsible for the administration of data systems on which staff and students rely. You will also work with other Services within the Academic Registry, affording you the opportunity to diversify your skills and HE knowledge base.

    With a degree or part qualified in a relevant professional qualification at degree level, you will have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a pressurised environment and demonstrate attention to detail. Experience of committee work, familiarity with academic procedures and/or database systems would be an advantage.

    Like much of ARU, the Academic Registry works on an agile basis – a mixture of office and home-based working and we can accommodate a variety of preferences in this regard.

    This vacancy has arisen following the retirement of the current postholder at the end of the calendar year. Therefore, the successful candidate will be able to take up this post no earlier than 4th December 2023.

    Anglia Ruskin University is amongst the most prestigious universities located in East Anglia, United Kingdom. The origins of the university can be traced back to the year 1858 when John Ruskin founded the Cambridge School of Art. With time, the Essex Institute of Higher Education merged with Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology to form Anglia Polytechnic. In 1992, it was named as Anglia Polytechnic University, and in 2005, it was renamed as Anglia Ruskin University.     The Guild House Peterborough campus, which was established in the year 2011, specializes in social and healthcare courses and is dedicated to training professionals of the corresponding field. Located in proximity to the city center, this campus has a strength of nearly 1200 students. The London campus was founded in 2015 and offers different undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In order to mark its presence in the UK and globally, the university partnered with a number of different institutions in the country, as well as across the world. Within the UK, it joined hands with University Centre West Anglia and University Centre Peterborough, while overseas, it entered into partnerships with colleges of different countries like India, Malaysia, Mauritius.

    The university offers undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses in different fields, keeping in mind the diverse requirements. There are postgraduate research courses available at the university as well, during which students can access modern facilities and gain hands-on experience. In addition, the university offers different part-time and continuing professional development (CPD) courses, which are particularly for working professionals. With the distance learning facility, students can gain access to study resources and online workshops.

    The university has more than 1,00,000 alumni present in 165 nations, who are working in different spheres. Some of the notable alumni are Chris Beckett (academic and author), Angela Hartnett (entrepreneur), Ian Miller (English footballer), Tony Palladino (English cricketer), and Barbara Yung (Hong Kong actress).
