  • About the Role The Senior Prospect Researcher, Prospect Research & Management is responsible for conducting fundraising research using business information, media, due diligence and biographic research tools in order to analyse and identify individuals, foundations and corporations capable of providing significant support to the University at the Leadership Giving, Major Gifts and Principal Gifts levels.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare accurate, well written, concise profiles synthesizing and analysing research information, including bullet, short and full profiles for key events and meetings for fundraising and Senior Executive staff.
  • Support key fundraising campaigns and projects by matching and identifying prospects for an approach and assignment, ensuring that the list supplied is at an appropriate valuation level.
  • Undertake portfolio reviews with fundraising staff in Leadership and/or Major Giving programs, ensuring appropriate tracking of prospect stages and the supply of fresh prospects with a view to ensuring portfolio optimisation.
  • Who we are looking for We're looking for people who have outstanding written communication, editing and analytical skills, with a creative approach to problem solving. You should show initiative, taking ownership of delivery, and sound judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information on alumni, prospects and donors and issues pertaining to privacy.

    You will also have:

  • Ideally you have a degree in a relevant discipline with substantial experience or an equivalent combination of substantial relevant industry experience, education and training as per the current Enterprise Agreement classifications
  • Demonstrated experience in a prospect research environment in a work- related context
  • Experience in utilising online research tools
  • In depth understanding of the fundraising landscape in Australia and internationally
  • Understanding and experience of capacity rating is desirable.
