The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Business Performance Improvement (EBPI), Communications, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), Global Marketing & Student Recruitment, Human Resources, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Property Services Group (PSG).
Information Technology Services:
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides RMIT University with Information and Communication Technology systems and services. Our role is to support RMIT's high quality teaching, learning, research and administrative activities.
Information Technology is of increasing importance to the research, teaching and learning life of a university, particularly a ‘global university of technology and design' like RMIT. ITS has developed, in conjunction with the broader University, an ICT Plan to 2020. This plan highlights five goals for ICT within RMIT. They include:
Best in class digital student experience – Invest in new technologies which transform the student experience and underpin the digital strategy.
Innovative and efficient Service Integrator – Reposition the ICT function to source and manage services more efficiently and to focus on business outcomes through innovation.

The Role
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the management of various ITS projects within Student Experience and will deliver multi-projects and assist with their transition to operational and business outcomes. The Senior Project Manager works with Portfolio & Planning, all squads and enabling teams to coordinate delivery across Student Experience applications.
The incumbent will take responsibility for the decision making for a range of ITS projects within Student Experience, using best practice project management methodologies, by identifying risks, issues and lead the team in a fast pace complex environment. The Senior Project Manager will be accountable for ITS projects and will lead a team in achieving cost effective outcomes.
The Senior Project Manager supports the Scrum Coordination Manager in establishing and delivering to a roadmap of initiatives that drive benefit for the University and great student and staff outcomes.

Skills & Experience
Supports the Scrum Coordination Manager in establishing and delivering to a roadmap of initiatives that drive benefit for the University and great student and staff outcomes.
Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to manage and implement various ITS application projects from ideation through final operational stage to business benefit realisation and a business-as-usual state using an iterative approach such as tranches, releases, or sprints.
Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project(s) to ensure that each project successfully delivers required business outcomes.
Take full responsibility for the definition, documentation, and satisfactory completion of complex application project(s) through managing business and wider RMIT University impacts, and resources including vendors and any other external stakeholders through negotiation and influencing necessary stakeholders.
Act as the escalation point of contact, recommending solutions and resolving more complicated project issues.
Maintain key delivery relationships with partners and vendors to deliver successful outcomes.
Initiate, develop, and maintain strong and effective internal and external networks that are relevant to meeting the completion of projects.
Identify, assess, and manage risks to the success of project(s) including dependencies across projects, business impact, market impact, and technical complexity.
Ensure that the realistic project, quality, and change control plans are prepared and maintained while providing regular and accurate updates to stakeholders as appropriate.
Lead the project change management process and ensure deliverables are completed within planned cost, timeframe, and resource budgets are signed off.
Can successfully deliver in SAFe framework and Advocates the Enablement/PMO methods and tools to deliver a standardised quality service of project management.
SAFe and Lean certified highly regarded.
Cultivate a culture and mindset of agile work practices to enable initiatives to be delivered efficiently, effectively and aligned to the business value.
Assist with the pipeline demands coordinating estimations and consulting with stakeholders.
