  • About This Opportunity

    The Senior Project Coordinator (Strategic projects and Research) leads, and is responsible for, the successful development and management of selected priority strategic projects including coordinating the School's Research portfolio activities.

    Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of priority projects nominated by the Director of Research and Strategic Projects Manager.
  • Manage the School Research Portfolio, in collaboration with the Director of Research and other project leads to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Introduce and maintain quality measurement practices for projects, which may include analysis and audit of project proposals and current activities.
  • Build a robust communication and engagement plan for priority projects, ensuring internal and external stakeholders are active participants in initiatives and activities
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Team, develop and embed a sustained marketing plan for external communication of relevant School strategic and research activities, including the design and development of reports.
  • Provide quality data analysis and reporting as required for strategic and research projects.
  • Provide support to Strategic Project Team members where required as nominated by the Team Manager.
  • Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor.

    At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $93,254.55 - $101,680.96 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $109,107.82 - $118,966.72 annually.

    About You
  • Postgraduate qualifications in project management, business or related field, or significant progress towards such qualifications, and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing the delivery of projects and change within a large organisation, including a solid understanding of people and process issues in implementing new business processes, programs and systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing for internal and external communications, project/program documents and governance committees including the development of key messages and effective dissemination to diverse audiences using a variety of communication channels.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivery of outcomes, and a self-motivated, positive and proactive approach to achieving goals through effective team and individual work.
  • Knowledge of the use of a wide range of computer applications in a network environment (particularly Microsoft Office and data management systems) in a large to medium sized organisation or the demonstrated ability to acquire such knowledge.

  • Demonstrated ability in the management of new strategic projects, including a well-developed understanding of project management principles and techniques.
  • A PhD and/or understanding of research processes.
  • Experience working in the higher education sector.
