The Marketing unit has an important role in all the university's business programs and in the MSc program in Industrial Management and Engineering. In the next few years, we also have exciting work ahead of us as we will develop several new courses. Subject description Marketing involves activities and processes for creating, communicating, and delivering value to customers and other stakeholders. This includes marketing of goods, services, and information between organizations and their customers. Marketing across international borders and in digital channels are areas of particular importance for the subject, as well as services marketing, tourism, and branding.
Duties As a senior lecturer, you will be involved in teaching. You will be responsible for developing and implementing courses in marketing and international business. Therefore, it is important that you have experience in teaching and supervision at the university level within these, or closely related, areas. Teaching includes courses at undergraduate and master's level, and supervision of theses. As a senior lecturer, you are expected to teach in large classes as well as in smaller groups. You will also be involved in development work related to our educational programs and courses.
The position also includes participating in research, keeping updated about international developments within the area of marketing, and acting as a supervisor for doctoral students. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to the university's development work, participate in applications for external research funding, and be able to take on management and administrative assignments. In the selection of candidates, we also place great emphasis on your personal abilities. Applicants should have a great interest in marketing in theory and practice and a curiosity about trends in the field. You are analytical, have good communication skills, and a desire for continued learning and development. Furthermore, you should be able to collaborate in teams but also work independently, and we therefore value the ability to cooperate and to take initiative.
Teaching and research take place in an international environment; hence, understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity is important. You should be able to teach in English, and preferably also in Swedish. Applicants who are not Swedish speaking are expected to actively learn the language in order to be able to teach in Swedish in a longer-term perspective.
Information The position is a permanent full-time employment. 6 months probationary employment may be applied. Start date by agreement. The position is located at the Department of Social Sciences, Technology and Arts at the university's campus in Luleå.
