General Role Overview
The Senior Engineer, Powertrain Control System Calibration will be responsible for developing the Powertrain system level of item functions and ensure item functions cascaded as distributed functions in Powertrain components.
Fisker is a fast-moving technologically focused startup, and in this context, you will need considerable flexibility and adaptability to deal with the features and system function changes in EV Powertrain and Thermal system, and rapidly developing managing the requirements and software implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop electric vehicle Powertrain system level function definitions.
Based on Powertrain EE architecture and boundaries, develop a concept and architecture of distributed functions in the Powertrain component level in stateflows, interfaces, and time sequence representations.
Develop component level system requirements for systems, including charging control, drive mode control, torque path, thermal control, power mode control, etc.
Establish the traceability between item functions and component requirements.
Develop test cases for the different requirements in the vehicle Powertrain domain and the Powertrain domain controller.
Troubleshoot and debug Powertrain system functions and propose solutions.
Develop simulation models and analytical tools as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Master of Science is preferred.
5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience in Powertrain Electrification and HV Systems in the Automotive industry.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies
Experience in Requirements Definition and Requirements Management for Automotive EV Powertrain using software tools, such as DOORS, Polarion, and JAMA.
Experience with software simulation, data acquisition, calibration, and data analysis tools, such as MATLAB, Simulink, CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe, etc.
Thorough knowledge of Automotive Powertrain functional control, including Software (SW) structure and development, from requirements derivation to software validation.
Familiarity with Functional Safety standards (ISO-26262).
Familiarity with Powertrain Diagnostics implementation.
Knowledge or working experience in ASPICE or CMMI process is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Expected Salary Range
$67,480.00 to $187,980.00 per year.
Additional Compensation
Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
