  • General Role Overview

    At the heart of Fisker's visionary product lies a state-of-the-art Powertrain and Thermal system – and you can play a central role in its delivery.

    The Senior Engineer, BMS Integration works as a member of the High Voltage (HV) Battery Team and will be responsible for developing a state-of-the-art Battery Management System.

    Fisker is a fast-moving technologically focused startup, and in this context, you will need considerable flexibility and adaptability to deal with the rapidly developing requirements at the leading edge of EV Thermal and Powertrain implementation.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead all commissioning activities and manage to solve integration / interface issues from HIL, test benches, and field vehicles.

  • Perform structured problem solving for Root Cause Analysis (Fish Bone / FTA).

  • Collaborate with systems team to implement changes on requirements.

  • Lead End-Of-Line (EOL) test requirements and specifications.

  • Collaborate with other teams to create / modify diagnostics and faults requirements (i.e., ODX, PDX).

  • Manage High-Voltage Battery ISO-26262 Functional Safety testing and fault injection.

  • Verify and validate SW requirements for BMS features to control and monitor HVB.

  • Collaborate with Infotainment, Cyber Security, and Connectivity teams to make sure BMS meets their requirements in terms of OTA and data visualization

  • Manage Tier 1 and Tier 2 Suppliers to implement BMS requirements.

  • Manage all SW releases and release notes and communicate releases with EE team.

  • Keep track of all functions and SW modules maturity during product lifecycle.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify features and functional requirements.

  • Lead critical issues that take place during development and make sure to identify root cause and implement solutions.

  • Document all SW requirements in systematic and clear way to facilitate maintainability, verification, and validation.

  • Analyze and review test reports and suggest test cases during troubleshooting.

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. Master of Science is preferred.

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Systems Engineering and/or ECU SW development, preferably in Battery Management Systems (BMS) and controls.

  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies

  • Knowledge in BMS features development, such as SOH, SOC, and Safety features.

  • Experience in Electric Powertrain Systems and High Voltage Battery integration.

  • Experience in production SW development cycle, from concept to release.

  • Experience in Requirements Management software tools, such as DOORS, Polarion, and JAMA.

  • Experience in Verification and Validation (DVP&R).

  • Experience in communication protocol tools, such as Vector CANoe / CANalyzer.

  • Profound knowledge in problem solving and troubleshooting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

  • Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as required.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

  • Expected Salary Range

    $67,480.00 to $187,980.00 per year.

    Additional Compensation

    Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

    The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
