Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop, maintain, and validate high quality surface data. (Component, assembly, and total vehicle).

  • Ensure relative aesthetic adjustments are incorporated under the direction of CAS leadership, while working with Studio Designers.

  • Ensure relative criteria issues are resolved in a timely manner and updated within the issue management system.

  • Assist department leadership with digital design reviews and support total vehicle design reviews as needed.

  • Support the Design Studio with concept projects and general studies, under the guidance of the Digital Design leadership team.

  • Support the Engineering Department with relative studies and criteria establishment involving surface data, under the guidance of the Digital Design leadership team. Responsibilities

  • Ability to create and evaluate high quality Class A Surface data, while incorporating criteria and process standards.

  • Ability to ‘Sketch Model' early design concepts in 3D using Alias software accurately representing design intent.

  • Ability to maintain component and assembly CAS data in the relative PDM system.

  • Ability to evaluate all associated tasks and apply accurate completion timing.

  • Ability to identify problems, elevate concerns, recommend solutions, and resolve issues.

  • Ability to accept personal responsibility and accountability for assignment execution and quality of work.

  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with internal and external departments and work equally well within a team or individually as required.

  • Knowledge of concept to launch program execution and automotive vehicle systems.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years in CAS and/or concept surface development, with 5 years in Automotive environments.

  • Autodesk Alias software experience preferred – other software may be considered.

  • Knowledge of poly modeling/algorithm modeling/rendering/animation preferred.

  • Knowledge of automotive vehicle systems with an emphasis on automotive interiors and exteriors.

  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, Exterior/Interior Development Processes, Global Safety Requirements, Regulations and Zones (including FMVSS and ECE/ECC), packaging, and Dimensional Engineering.

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or design preferred but not required with equivalent extensive experience.

  • Ability to travel
