  • About the Department

The Development and Alumni Office (DAO) is responsible for building a culture of philanthropic support for Goldsmiths. We are a small team that collaborates across the College, including with the Warden, who works very closely with us to developing relationships with supporters.

Outstanding Goldsmiths projects that we seek support for include the Equity Awards, Alchemy, Goldsmiths CCA, Open Book and Forensic Architecture. We are also working closely with senior leadership to develop high level networks to help us drive forward a major endowment campaign as part of the College's new ten-year strategy.

    About the Role

The role works closely with the Director of Development and colleagues across DAO and the university to raise philanthropic funds from HNW individuals and organisations. The work is highly collaborative, varied and meaningful – it includes liaising with academic champions to develop cases for support for incredible areas of Goldsmiths' work, researching funding opportunities, drafting correspondence and proposals, curating content for donor visits to campus, meeting prospects face-to-face, developing project and solicitation strategies, managing and advancing relationships and much more. Creativity, strategic thinking and outstanding written and verbal communication skills are key – as well as flexibility, resilience, astuteness and openness to opportunity and challenge.

    About the Candidate

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to make things happen, to manage and move relationships forward, to communicate inspiring messages and build warm relationships that deliver philanthropic support for Goldsmiths. Ideally you will have experience of delivering funds in a fundraising context, but transferrable skills from exceptional candidates looking to move into the sector are also welcomed.

Goldsmiths, University of London is passionate about advancing equality and celebrating diversity.
