An opportunity to be senior member of a team of functional and technical specialists responsible for the operational support and management of Macquarie University's Student Administration applications, platforms and associated technologies.

• From $115,030 to $127,995 (HEW Level 8), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading. • Full time, continuing role. Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde. • High performing team. Hybrid working arrangement.

Application Services is responsible for providing the ongoing Business as Usual management and support activities associated with applications, platforms and technologies managed by MQ IT.

The Senior Application Specialist (Student) will be responsible for delivering technical leadership as well as strategic and operational support and advice to users of Student Administration applications. Reporting to the Manager, Applications Services (Student), you will consult with stakeholders, conduct requirements analysis, review and document business requirements in order to inform the design, build, configuration and testing of research related business solutions. You will also support release management, and the monitoring and maintenance of Student applications.

About You

You will have extensive experience with supporting Student Administration applications and demonstrate strong capability in business requirements gathering, analysis and documentation.

Your key attributes are:

  • Subject matter expertise in student administration support functions, processes and procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience working on multiple business improvement initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong track record in writing unambiguous, verified requirements (functional and non-functional).
  • Good understanding of Application delivery platforms and Cloud technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT service management concepts and their application.
  • Excellent stakeholder and vendor engagement and management.
  • Desirable:

  • Experience with TechOne Student Administration module.
  • Project Management certification (Prince2 or PMBOK)
  • Proven experience working with one or more project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum/Kanban methodologies or other Agile practises)
  • Experience in writing and executing SQL Queries.
