Sheffield Hallam University is a partner in the ‘Next Generation Research SuperVision Project (RSVP): Transforming the culture of doctoral supervision and education'. The project aims to review, shape and enhance the supervision of postgraduate research students in higher education institutions.

This new role is based in the Doctoral School Team in Research and Innovation Services. We are looking to appoint a Senior Administrator who will provide support for a range of project activities including events, communications and project support. The role will involve collaborative working with staff across the partner organisations and other key audiences.

You will support and coordinate various activities including organising meetings, workshops and events; internal and external communications; collating information and data; reviews of policies and processes. This is not an exhaustive list, and it is expected that you will be responsible for related activities commensurate with the level of the role and nature of the project.

You should have experience of working independently and carrying out a range of administration activities; of arranging and supporting meetings, projects and associated activities; and of working effectively in an environment of complex regulations and procedures.

Sheffield Hallam University is located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in England. This is one of the biggest and the most diverse of the universities in England. The university is sprawled over two locations. They have 30 centers for research, including the Art and Design Research Centre and Biomedical Research Centre, among others. Helena Kennedy is the present Chancellor who is also a broadcaster, barrister, and the life peer of the House of Lords. SHU is the leading partner for Higher Futures, the Lifelong Learning Network (LLN) for Southern Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire.

There are many notable alumni, including Kid Acne, who is a musician and artist, Roma Bubuniak, who is an artist. The notable staff includes Alison Adam, who is the professor of society, technology and science and I.M Dharmadasa, who is an applied researcher and physicist specializing in low in cost solar cells.
