DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY

Scientific Officer (PR0150/23-24)

Responsibilities:

Assist in teaching and demonstrating practical classes;

Provide technical support to teaching staff;

Maintain and operate a range of laboratory instruments (expertise in using ICP-MS system, CHNS analyser, confocal microscope and fluorescence imaging system is an advantage);

Perform supervision of general laboratories and special facilities such as radiation room; and

Undertake any other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements:

At least a bachelor's degree in environmental science, agriculture, or other fields of biological sciences; and

Practical experience in operating the above instruments is an advantage.

The initial appointment will be offered a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
