The School of Public Health and Community Medicine, at the Institute of Medicine, conducts extensive education and research in global public health, general practice/family medicine, occupational medicine, environmental medicine, social medicine, medicine use and pharmaceutical policy. We also conduct education and research within nutritional epidemiology, insurance medicine, innovation and utilization, health economics, biostatistics and register epidemiology. We are developing interdisciplinary work on the UN´s Sustainable Development Goals with a focus on SGD 3 (health) and 8 (economic growth).
The aim of the current 3-year project is to study vascular, nerve and musculoskeletal disorders among three groups of dental care employees (dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians).
The medical examination includes tests of sensitivity to pressure and touch, pain sensitivity, discriminatory sensation, determination of vibration and temperature thresholds and a clinically standardized examination of the neck, shoulders, forearms and hands according to the so-called HECO protocol (Health Surveillance in Adverse Ergonomics Conditions).Duties
The job assignment includes planning and preparation of the study in collaboration with other participating researchers. Furthermore, to carry out the data collection with clinical examination, data processing and compilation of results as well as report and article writing and communication of research results.Qualifications
PhD in the field of medicine preferably occupational medicine is required. Registered physiotherapist/ergonomist with experience in occupational medicine required. Habit and experience of surveys and group compilations with the HECO method is eligible. Knowledge in publications in international scientific journals, preferably in the field of occupational medicine is required. Good ability to express oneself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English is also required.
