    The Opportunity

    The Department of Oncology is seeking a dedicated and experienced Research Nurse who possesses a strong work ethic and is eager to engage in professional development opportunities.

    This position will be responsible for collecting high-quality clinical research data and delivering optimal medical and nursing care to subjects (patients) in accordance with the standards set by the National Health Medical and Research Council (NHMRC), Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCP), the International Committee of Harmonisation (ICH) and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

    To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A Nursing degree from a recognised university, accompanied by relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training
  • Proficiency in venepuncture, blood processing, and ECG procedures
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • The ability to navigate electronic records and web-based platforms
  • A strong work ethic and a proactive approach to professional development
  • The capacity to handle pressure and exceptional attention to detail
  • Eastern Clinical Research Unit (ECRU) is a division of the Eastern Health Clinical School and operates jointly between the Department of Medicine and the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University. Box Hill Hospital is the primary site for the research activities of ECRU.
