About You The Research and Innovation (R&I) Data Insights Lead holds a pivotal role in overseeing research management statutory reporting and generating insights crucial for informed decision-making related to RMIT's Strategy implementation. In this capacity, the position involves engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders to grasp their priority business inquiries. It also plays a central role in analyzing the university's research performance and identifying areas of research excellence and emerging opportunities. Leveraging data from both internal and external sources, the incumbent conducts advanced analyses with the ultimate goal of producing high-quality dashboards and comprehensive written reports that provide actionable recommendations. Additionally, the role encompasses leading the development of data insight tools as necessary.
Key stakeholders of this role include the Executive group of the Deputy Vice- Chancellor for Research and Innovation (DVC-R&I) and other leaders in Research Management. Beyond close collaboration with teams within the Research and Innovation Portfolio, this position closely collaborates with the Data and Analytics team in the Operations Portfolio, complementing their ongoing data and analytics services. Currently, a primary focus of the role is to support the realization of Direction 2, "Research & Innovation for Impact," within RMIT's Knowledge with Action Strategy. The role also contributes to fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation throughout the university.
