Fixed-Term for 6 months, with the possibility of extending.
The post can be on a full-time or part-time basis and held remotely or on- campus. Job Share and lower FTE would be actively considered.
Bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) show potential as biomaterials due to properties such as low Young's modulus, high fracture strength and excellent corrosion resistance. This project aims to understand how the composition and structure of BMGs are connected to their properties.
The researcher will conduct computer simulation of relevant metallic glass compositions using molecular dynamics techniques. For certain compositions, this will involve fitting interatomic potentials to conduct the simulations appropriately. The researcher will collaborate closely with experimental researchers within the group.
