This role will focus on digitization in the automotive sector and in particular the use of digital twins throughout the product lifecycle. A preliminary study has identified five key themes that describe the people- related opportunities and challenges within the sector. You are expected to undertake a deeper investigation into these themes whilst also contributing to the cross-sector learning objectives of the Centre for People-Led Digitalisation (C-PLD).
You will be expected to build on this research through further, targeted interviews to explore the key themes in more depth. After developing a deep understanding of these themes, we will expect you to oversee a series of workshop activities aimed at identifying practical actions and methods that will bring overcome the challenges and realize the positive uptake of digital tools.
In this role you will work in collaboration with the IAAPS academic group and their industrial contacts. Based at the University of Bath within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, you will work alongside academics, researchers, PhD students and engineers.
This position is offered on a full time, fixed term basis from April 2024 until the end of February 2025.
