Job Title Research Assistant – Innovations in Nutrition Programs

Department Rehabilitative Sciences - 21755 Pay Grade Job Category Temporary Job Summary

The Department of Rehabilitative Sciences is seeking applications for a Research Assistant for the Innovations in Nutrition Program. This position reports to the Principal Investigator (PI) in the Department of Rehabilitative Sciences and will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Attend curriculum facilitator training sessions.
  • Assist with recruitment and enrollment of older adult participants, as well as youth volunteer participants (note: may require traveling to sites within the Northeast Tennessee region)
  • Assist with pre- and post-intervention data collection.
  • Deliver nutrition education sessions via Zoom, following a standardized facilitator guide.
  • Attend weekly team meetings for ongoing process evaluation of curriculum
  • Assist with the development of social media posts and moderation of Facebook groups.
  • Assist with the development of abstracts and manuscripts as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Zoom, and reporting data systems
  • Excellent oral presentation and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively with program staff, community partners, and participants
  • Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Two years of experience working with clinical or community resource settings or comparable experience
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (Nutrition, Community Health, or Public Health)
  • Experience with grant-funded programs or not-for-profit organizations
  • Salary $20.00/hr
