Research Assistant, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Unit

0.5 FTE, 12 months, Fixed-Term, Part-time Post

Position Summary

As part of UCC's approach to addressing sexual violence and harassment (SVH) at third level, the Ending Sexual Violence Harassment (ESVH)-Safe & Sound project will create consistent messaging via flexible content for a year-long social media and poster pilot campaign in UCC. It will utilise bespoke flexible content for social media, posters, and campus wide digital signage to target students and staff to increase awareness of harmful sexual behaviour, awareness of reporting procedures, institutional policy, support services and training.

ESVH-Safe & Sound will design, produce, and disseminate consistent and transferrable messaging to impart critical information on SVH and to provide an all-round base knowledge on where to find support, and how to report. It will focus on comprehensive and consistent messaging covering all aspects of the ESVH Framework. It will also gather data on the impact of this campaign to support the rollout of the campaign.

The campaign will produce posters, social media content, and digital signage, and the messaging will be comprehensive and consistent, fact-based, supportive and trauma informed. Content will be transferrable for a cross- sectoral roll- out for Irish HEIs in addressing sexual violence and harassment. The successful candidate will be based within the UCC EDI Unit and will work closely with the Sexual Violence and Harassment Prevention and Response Manager. This role will be hybrid with on-campus attendance required for content creation with partners and other key activities.
