This new part-time (0.6FTE) post is available immediately on a fixed term basis until the 31st of July 2024.

Summary of the role

The above part-time post is available immediately within Research Services. The post-holder will be working with the Children and Young People's Mental Health Research Collaboration (ChYMe).

Main purpose of the job:

To provide general and specialist administrative support to the research teams in the delivery of the evaluation of three research studies that all focus on children and young people's mental health. The first one, ATTEND is a randomised controlled trial to test the effectiveness of a new treatment for depression called Mindfulness for Adolescents and Carers (MAC). MAC is a teenager friendly version of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive-Therapy (MBCT), which also supports carers to manage their own distress and to help their teenagers recover and stay well. The second one, STOP, is testing a new secondary school teaching approach to help prevent dating, relationship and gender-based violence. The third, Kailo, aims to target social, economic and environmental factors affecting child health.

All three research projects involve working with a large number of collaborators across the country and the postholder will need to be confident to engage in a professional way with a large variety of stakeholders, including NHS service managers, community group leaders, teachers, teenagers and academics.
