Programme Manager - Strategic Workforce Programme (Fixed Term)

The University is currently launching a Strategic Workforce Programme to address two of the University's top people priorities to enable us to attract, recruit and retain.

The Strategic Workforce Programme will therefore comprise two workstreams:

  • A review of the University's pay structure and pay policy
  • Career Pathways for Professional Services Staff - linked to Reimagining Professional Services
  • While these two workstreams will effectively be managed as two separate projects, the development of the career pathways and job families will be aligned to any new arrangements for pay.

We are therefore looking for an experienced Programme Manager for the 3-year period of design and delivery phases of the Strategic Workforce Programme. This is a large complex programme in terms of scale and reach, and complexity touching all members of staff.

You will have excellent people management, communication and organisational skills and be confident coordinating the work and delivery of a programme team of up to five members.

Educated to Degree level +, or equivalent work experience, you will have extensive in-depth experience of HR programme delivery, including risk mitigation and issue resolution and credibility working within formal governance structures such as board and audit committees is key to the role.

This role will be pivotal in collaboration across the University and will require numerous successful interactions and engagement with a variety of stakeholders of significant seniority (including PVCs, Heads of School, etc.). Furthermore, the role will need to leverage the expertise within the University's devolved structure to drive a unified direction for the programme to enable successful implementation and adoption.

This is an exciting role to make a real difference to some of the top people priorities for the University. Apply today to join us!

Informal enquiries are welcomed and should be directed to either: Rachel Machon, Head of Organisational Development - [email protected] or David Field, Pay Review Lead - [email protected]

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.

Applications are welcome from internal candidates who would like to apply for the role on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.

Click the 'Apply' button below to register an account with our recruitment system (if you have not already) and apply online.

Please ensure that you upload your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a covering letter (the length of which must not exceed two sides of A4) with the details of two referees in the Upload section of the online application.
