Description

Responsible for administratively managing a large or complex University program or multiple programs. Provides input in the development of program plan and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters. Typically supervises small staffs and are responsible for long range planning. Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and report writing. May handle regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions and identify research funding. May handle event planning and oversight of construction projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Program Director in developing programmatic objectives, learning outcomes, and evaluation.
  • Maintain and organize course scheduling logistics; troubleshoot university registrar complications. Liaison with the SHP Office of Academic Advising to provide guidance to the admissions, advising, and retention needs of the program.
  • Represent SHP and BMD at recruitment events as needed.
  • Assist Academic Advisors in training BMD Student Organization officers, assist officers throughout the year in programming and event planning.
  • Coordinate BMD Marketing Efforts (including but not limited to social media campaigns, marketing/recruitment events, maintain the [email protected] email, build marketing presentations, create all BMD marketing materials for both major and minor, maintain all communications between BMD and OSRES and retention as well as the University Admissions and Recruiting departments, price, schedule, plan and organize BMD events - graduation, welcome week, etc.)
  • Keep abreast of trends and issues through professional associations and professional development activities.
  • Maintain policies and procedures, serve as the liaison between the program and external stakeholders and provide customer service to students, faculty, alumni, and the UAB community.
  • Daily working familiarity with UAB's multiple technologies used for advising such as BlazerNET, GPS, Zoom, and Canvas, which include time management skills and an ability to respond to multiple demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Annual Salary Range: $51,270.00 - $70,000.00

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Master's degree preferred.
