    Applications are invited for the post of either Professor or Senior Lecturer in Investigative Journalism within the Department of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies. MCCS is one of the leading media departments of its kind in the world. It combines theory and practice across its diverse array of degree programmes. Its staff and graduates have consistently won international recognition for their research and numerous industry awards for their practice.

    The appointee will lead our new MA in Investigative Journalism, which will welcome its first cohort in September 2024. The appointee will have an outstanding track record in investigative journalism and the ability to teach students to carry out robust and impactful investigations of their own. They will also undertake relevant research, impact and knowledge exchange activities to raise the profile of investigative journalism within the University and enhance the department's research profile.

    If you are applying for the post at the level of Professor you will be expected to meet the criteria set out in the job description to a significantly higher level than if you are applying at the level of Senior lecturer.     Established in 1904, Goldsmiths University of London is an open research institution that is associated with the Association of Commonwealth Universities and Universities UK. Earlier, it was known as the Goldsmiths Technical and Recreative Institute. Later on, after becoming a part of the University of London, it was renamed to its current name. The university received its royal charter in 1990. The university was built and designed by the famous architect, Reginald Blomfield. During the 1960s, the university witnessed a rapid growth in the number of enrolments. In the same year, the university began its diploma courses in textile, sculpture, and painting. In 1980, it began offering undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in various fields under arts and humanities.

Further, the campus houses the Department of Media & Communications and the Institute for Creative & Cultural Entrepreneurship. Also, the campus has a seven-story building that features a studio, the center for computation & culture, and the Department of Art. The campus also provides student's accommodation facilities.

    The institution offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. The academic curriculum of the university includes the Department of Design, Department of Media & Communications, the Department of Sociology, the Department of Art & Humanities, Department of Anthropology, and the Department of Music. The departments have various courses that give students a wide scope to choose among the subjects according to their area of interest. The university is in partnership with about 1,500 schools and colleges. This allows students to go for the student's exchange program and learn about a different curriculum. Students also get the chance to work as interns under professionals.
