Strategic Procurement is an integral part of the Finance function and plays a key role in driving, embedding and building upon efficiency, effectiveness and overall value for money for The University.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to ensure The University achieves best value and cost effectiveness through whole lifecycle of contract management.
This role will be responsible for delivering service and quality from the most suitable suppliers and ensuring full compliance with EU directives and public sector best practice.
The role will work alongside schools and departments to act as a centre of advice and knowledge in relation to all aspects of procurement, supplies legislation, commercial risk awareness and drive best value for money commensurate with quality and service.
The Person
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager who are is MCIPS qualified with public sector procurement experience (Higher education experience would be derisible).
Successful candidates will possess a track record of successful contract management have up to-date working knowledge of procurement directives and their use and implementation in a public sector environment.
