Description
As a process engineer working in our Die Casting Engineering Team you will work with others inside and outside our team to develop and deliver world class production die casting equipment systems and processes supporting GM's vision and promise of an all-electric future. You will be part of a multifunctional team responsible for the development of requirements and specifications used to purchase equipment from machine and automation OEM's. You will work with internal and external engineering and manufacturing resources to develop equipment and cell designs and processes used to produce and process castings supporting GM's propulsion systems and vehicles. You will assist in project management and developing of installation plans required to integrate the systems in the plant. As the equipment is being built, you will develop and acquire key documentation, prints and spare part information needed to support the long-term manufacturing process. After equipment installation activities are completed, you will assist in try-out and throughput improvement activities to optimize the die casting and processing systems through the start of regular production.
Every member of the Castings team contributes to an environment of professionals committed to successfully integrating people, product, and processes to produce the highest quality components that are ready to meet the demands of our high-performance vehicles. This position will require occasional travel both domestically and internationally. This position will require the ability to work overtime or off-shift as needed.
