Post-Baccalaurate Nursing Faculty

Faculty position teaching in clinical, laboratory, and/or didactic courses working with adult students in an accelerated post-baccalaureate nursing program. Courses are delivered online with clinical experiences and skills intensives. This position will have online teaching and face to face teaching in clinical and the skills lab. This position requires the ability to teach in at least two specialty areas. Adult medical-surgical, psych/mental health, public health, and pediatrics are preferred. Additional specialty experience is welcome. Faculty may also teach similar content in the traditional BSN program.

Responsibilities

Teaching in clinical settings; at least 2 specialty areas with a preference for adult medical/surgical, psych/mental health, public health, and pediatrics. Other specialty settings as qualified.

Function as team leader for select clinical and/or skills courses.

Teaching in the nursing skills and simulation labs.

Online teaching of skills and/or didactic content.

Evaluation of students in clinical and skills settings.

General faculty responsibilities include involvement in the activities of the department and university (i.e. participation in teaching teams and committees).

Experience

Required Experience:

A minimum of 3 years clinical experience is necessary, with clinical experience in at least 2 specialty areas.

Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting or as a preceptor of students or new nursing employees would be an asset.

Education

Required Education:

A master's degree in nursing is required, and significant progress toward completion of a doctoral degree is preferred. A clinical focus with practice in 2 specialty settings is necessary.

Current Minnesota RN licensure or eligibility required.
