Harper Adams University is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well-presented Porter, reporting to the Security and Portering Manager.
The Portering team are integral to providing high levels of customer service. The team carry out a wide range of duties, some work being planned, others elements are reactive. Some of the work may be physically demanding to include the lifting of large and/or awkward shaped items on a regular basis. Professionalism and commitment to delivering high quality customer focused services are essential, as are initiative and flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure when required. A full current driving licence will be essential for this role, having the D1 entitlement would be highly advantageous.

Harper Adams University is a public university in Shropshire, England. It was established in 1901 and is a specialist higher education institution for the studies of agriculture and farming.
There are more than 50 foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes and students come from over 30 countries.
The university is set within a 550-hectare working farm. Other facilities on campus include the Bamford Library, the Postgraduate and Professional Development Centre, the Frank Parkinson Farm Education Centre and Frontier's Crop Centre among others.
Undergraduate courses are offered in 11 departments: agriculture; animal sciences; applied biology; business and agri-food; countryside, environment, wildlife and geography; engineering; food science, technology and innovation; real estate, property, and land management; veterinary nursing; veterinary physiotherapy and zoology.

There are four themed balls throughout the year for students: the Fresher's Ball, the Christmas Ball, Paddy's Ball and the Summer Ball. There are also a number of social facilities on campus including Graze Cafe, Kaldi Cafe, Pam's Pantry, The Feed Store, The Welly Inn, Main Bar and the Conference Dining Hall.
There are a variety of sports clubs that students can join including rugby, shooting, football, hockey, fencing, netball, motorsport and many others.
The university has exchange programmes with institutions in America, New Zealand, Japan and the EU. Students must achieve at least a 60 per cent pass rate in the first year to be able to study abroad for six months during the placement year.
