Role Overview

Fisker Automotive is looking for a passionate Port Manager , to join our growing team. Reporting to the Senior Logistics Manager this role will lead a team responsible for management and oversight of all vehicle logistics functions. We are have two openings: Baltimore, MD and Los Angeles/San Diego, CA

Responsibilities

  • Ensures achievement of the monthly wholesale shipping objectives. Reviews the daily, weekly and monthly work plan for the facility and adjusts as necessary to achieve objectives.

  • Ensures that the port processor, trucker carriers and all other parties that function at the port work as a team and are aligned with the company's critical targets.

  • Arrange for proper customs and duty submission requirements for each shipment.

  • Responsible for the proper inspection of the vehicles after vessel discharge.

  • Work with the Logistics Planning Team to identify improved service options.

  • Establish, monitor, and action vendor KPIs.

  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transportation costs.

  • Interpret data on logistics elements such as availability, reliability, supply chain management and provider's information.

  • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, and frequency.

  • Recommend improvements to existing or planned vehicle logistics processes.

  • Prepare reports on logistics performance measures & own logistics-related databases.

  • Oversee port vendor operations including: acceorization, PDI, damage repair, vehicle protection, inspections, maintenance, shunting, and charging.

  • Responsible for the inbound truck and rail transportation operations

  • Manage and maintain relationships with vessel lines, stevedores, inspection provider, rail and truck transportation providers.

  • Provide full supply chain analysis and reporting to executive leadership on cost, performance measures, damages rates, and opportunities.

  • Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • Degree in logistics, supply chain management, or operations.

  • Multi-cultural interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English, preferred language skills in Spanish

  • Prior experience (7-10 years) of working in logistics/supply chain/ transportation function within the automotive or manufacturing environment with comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes

  • Deep knowledge of principles for transporting vehicles by rail, road and sea

  • IT systems experience and skills including knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and customer data systems

  • Expertise of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations, including legal requirements is a plus

  • Advanced skills of MS Office applications, specifically, Excel

  • Well organized, strong attention to detail, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a proactive mindset

  • Extensive knowledge on international and domestic customs requirements

  • Knowledge of FVL transportation and logistics service providers

  • Expected Salary Range: $77,000 - $116,500

    Additional Compensation : Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

    Benefits : Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.

    The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
