PMO Senior Analyst

PMO Senior Analyst

If you are looking for an opportunity to join a dynamic, motivated and fun team and help establish a new strategic function in a world-leading University, this could be the role for you.

The University of Cambridge is updating the way it delivers core systems and processes, and it has established a new office to help realise this vision. The team is setting up a new Portfolio Management Office (PMO), and it needs a new Senior Analyst to help set the PMO's direction now and into the future.

This is a new role on a new and energetic team, working with professional and academic staff across all functions and in all levels at the University to deliver major transformative opportunities to support staff, students and ultimately our societal mission.

The PMO Senior Analyst will work closely with the Head of Strategic Change and Delivery, directly report to the PMO lead, and collaborate closely with the PMO Analyst. They will partner with the PMO's team of change specialists, and they will build strong, trust-based relationships with the transformation programme teams and support their cross-programme collaboration as necessary. Key responsibilities of the role include:

-Portfolio schedule management

-Portfolio dependency management, particularly focusing on user impact management

-Portfolio risks and issues management

-Capturing and communicating lessons learned to inform strategic changes

-And other key areas of analysis to support the portfolio

As this is a new role in a new function, the PMO Senior Analyst will support the development of new and effective processes and templates for collecting and delivering this information, in partnership with the rest of the PMO, the wider Change and Programme Management Office, and other portfolio and programme teams across the University. They will also serve as the PMO's primary liaison to the Project Management Community of Practice and help support the dissemination and training of effective project, programme, and portfolio management and analysis approaches, with the ultimate vision for a more widely adopted and consistent practice of this work across the University. Given that this team's role is new to the organisation, this work will require sensitivity, transparency, and regular clear communication to build trust and generate cooperation.

Partial home working is an option for this role and can be discussed during the interview process. If you have a preferred working pattern, please feel free to share that in your application.

The University also offers a highly competitive holiday and benefits package.

If you are an experienced project and programme manager familiar with portfolio management and are eager to contribute your skills to an organisation in ways that will last for many years to come, we'd like to hear from you!

When applying, please upload your CV and cover letter which clearly sets out how you meet the criteria listed in the person specification (the knowledge, skills, and experience required for the role) along with relevant examples. Candidates will be shortlisted and invited to interview based upon these criteria.

Interviews will be held on 9 June 2023 in person in Cambridge.
