Position Title Part-time Office Assistant

Work Location Springfield Campus Department Graduate College Administration Pay Grade Unclassified Proposed Salary $15/hr. General Function

Assist Graduate College in the front office (reception) area with graduate admissions and other areas of the Graduate College.

Description of Primary Duties

Assist with Graduate Admission queries via phone, email and in person. These tasks include, but are not limited to:

o answering questions about programs

o assisting applicants, staff, and faculty with the application process

o checking application statuses

- Accessing, viewing, and interpreting information in student records and applications systems.

- Process paper and electronic transcripts and upload them into the student database.

- Process and enter test scores into student database.

- Assist at the front Graduate College office desk with phone calls and in- person inquiries from students, faculty members, administrators, staff, and the public.

- Assist with mixed credit and senior permission forms. - Assist with scanning and filing of documents.

- Assist with graduate assistant forms.

- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

High School Diploma required; some college or associate degree preferred.

The applicant should have strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills, be detail oriented and organized. The applicant should have experience with Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and have prior experience working in a school or office setting.

Additional Qualifications Special Instructions to Applicants

This posting will remain open until position has been filled.

This position will work up to 20 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. A specific schedule will be determined with the selected candidate.
