Pay Transparency Act- Western University of Health Sciences is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The full salary range for this position is defined as the Full Pay Range. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position defined as the Expected Pay Scale. Placement within the Expected Pay Scale is determined by internal equity, and relevant qualifications.

Outcomes Assessment Manager oversees and directs all aspects of the College of Dental Medicine program effectiveness and continuous improvement processes. Works with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and develops evaluation tools to measure curriculum outcomes, and student and faculty effectiveness. Assist the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and other administrative leaders with grants, accreditation (self-studies), feasibility studies, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Understanding of data acquisition methods to attain consistent and structured data for analysis and visualization purposes.

Functional knowledge of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), business intelligence applications (e.g. Crystal Reports, Salesforce, PowerBI), and collaboration platforms (e.g. Sharepoint, Slack, Google Workspace).

Understanding and observance of user level management, data security protocols, and personnel logistics to a level which satisfies WesternU's University Compliance Office. This will include compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and employee data standards. Ability to scrutinize digital workflows, standard operating procedures, and academic processes under the context of outcomes management.

Experience in creating surveys and questionnaires and conducting statistical analyses

Language ability to produce clear and concise reports; and reasoning ability to problem solve quickly

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact and outside constituents in a responsive and professional manner.

Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and be flexible with job assignments.

Must have foundational computing software skills including the basic notions of computer manipulation, managing computer files, finding information, working with productivity software (e.g. word processing, spreadsheet utilization, presentation creation), and utilizing communication tools (e.g. email, conferencing, collaboration tools)

Required Qualifications

Education: Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Must have a valid Driver's License

Must maintain a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that satisfies the requirements of the WesternU Vehicle Use Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

AA Degree required, BS/BA degree or equivalent highly preferred.

Prefer a minimum of 3 years administrative experience

Advanced knowledge of scheduling and database management

Ability to write grant applications.

Knowledge in the use of Banner, BanWeb, CoursEval, Curriculum Tracking Software, ExamSoft, axiUm, PowerBI.

List comments regarding work hours

Usual hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with the possibility of earlier or later start time. Evening or weekends may be required. Travel between CDM clinic sites may be required including but not limited to Pomona, El Monte, Chino Hills, and Rancho Mirage.

Works with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Assistant Dean of Student Services, and the Director of Education within the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) to coordinate academic support services for students

Percentage Of Time 5 Job Duty

Provides customer service and support to internal and external customers.

Percentage Of Time 5 Job Duty

Provides support to course directors and basic science course liaisons with course event and/or document postings, examination proctoring and grading, as needed and in coordination with OAA staff.

With the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, coordinate assessments in the context of the College's mission, goals, objectives, and outcomes. (15%)

Percentage Of Time 15 Job Duty

Manages the data collection and analysis of competencies and progress in The Dental Center and at Community Sites in conjunction with the Associate Dean for Patient Care Services and Clinical Education and the Associate Dean for Community Partnerships and Access to Care.

Manage systems for ensuring adherence to accreditation standards.

Percentage Of Time 10 Job Duty

With the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, coordinates ongoing assessments of curriculum and educational effectiveness.

With the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, coordinates assessments of educational learning outcomes through all aspects of the curriculum including didactic and clinical education experiences.

Implement and maintain the database and electronic systems to support assessment efforts in conjunction with the CDM Informatics Team.

Provide support for, and engage in, educational research for administration, faculty and OAA.

Provide ongoing communications and reports to disseminate information to aid in decision making and planning processes. (5%)
