The UT Southwestern Department of Ophthalmology is actively recruiting for the position of Vice Chair of Education at the level of Associate Professor or Professor. The ideal candidate is an innovative physician leader with significant experience in the education of medical students, ophthalmology residents and fellows. Important attributes include exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, a record of developing and leading strong teams, an ability to work with a range of stakeholders, a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and unquestioned personal integrity. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a complex array of educational training of students, residents and fellows across multiple sites in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, including the main UT Southwestern campus, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Children's Medical Center, Dallas Veterans Administration Medical Center, and John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth.

Applications are welcome from candidates in all ophthalmologic subspecialties. We seek an individual with an MD degree who is board certified/eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology and who is eligible for Texas medical licensure. Successful completion of an ACGME (or equivalent) accredited residency in ophthalmology is required. Salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
