This is a remote position; the selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States.

About the Role:

As the OnStar eCommerce Head of Merchandising, you will be the head of the subscription and digital product eCommerce experience. You will work with executive leaders in the Digital Commerce, Sales, and Marketing to transform the way we deliver a seamless customer shopping experience. We are on a mission to create a world-class eCommerce experience by transforming all channels to seamlessly integrate as one omni-channel experience to reach our strategic goals.

In this role, you will be responsible for the developing an eCommerce solution and managing sales growth of OnStar subscriptions and digital products. You will play an instrumental role in shaping the customer site experience for the OnStar department, overseeing everything from visual merchandising to content strategy to functionality and department-level campaign planning and execution. You will inspire the organization to think differently and drive impact, improvement, and innovation to create a truly frictionless online shopping experience and drive the OnStar eCommerce business.

This role will require a strong eye for business in interpreting results, the ability to challenge the status-quo, effectively prioritize in an unstructured environment, identify revenue and customer experience driving opportunities, and leading across functions to articulate and promote development plans. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced team environment, is data driven and results-oriented, and is inspired to understand how customers shop online and use strategic thinking and innovation to create a seamless and fresh eCommerce experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the planning, development, and execution of merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability for OnStar subscriptions and digital products
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and sales, to ensure that the company's merchandising strategy aligns with market trends, customer preferences, and business objectives
  • Collaborate across teams to improve and enhance consumer experience through innovation & consumer journey development for existing channels as well as new marketing channels and new audiences
  • Working closely with the marketing, UX, and creative teams to ensure that product descriptions, images, videos, and other relevant assets are accurately presented across the eCommerce channel
  • Developing and managing an overall content testing program to optimize the digital merchandising strategy and enhance product data and content management
  • Testing and optimizing category/marketing landing pages and site functionality for specific offers and media to optimize the eCommerce experience
  • Creating and maintaining existing and new high converting and personalized user experiences on the eCommerce Platform
  • Build, lead, and develop the OnStar eCommerce Merchandising Team to maximize department contributions
  • Leverage eCommerce analytics to identify opportunities to improve conversion, product page views, cross-sell, up-sell, and add to cart rates, driving incremental engagement, sales, productivity, and profitability
  • Evaluating OnStar product performance and provide action plans necessary to change, improve and optimize product performance on across eCommerce sites
  • Anticipate roadblocks and proactively address issues before they impact business results
  • Synthesize and present findings and recommendations often to senior leadership and organizational stakeholders
  • Keep up to date with current eCommerce technologies and trends including mobile, UX, personalization, AI, analytics, SEO and A/B testing tools/methodologies

    Required Qualifications

  • BA / BS in Business, Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or related fields
  • 7+ years' experience in eCommerce merchandising
  • 7+ years' experience in web and mobile Commerce for a subscription product (software/content subscription product experience a plus)
  • Demonstrated expertise in driving customer experience, growth, and engagement for digital and subscription-based products/services
  • Solid understanding of digital merchandising strategies, SEO, and user experience (UX) principles
  • Ability to inspire and communicate with a wide range of constituents and executives across functions and organizational levels; ability to lead by influence across a global organization, identify critical issues and opportunities, evaluate options, and provide recommendations
  • Strong decision-making skills and comfort with ambiguity to handle the ever-changing digital eCommerce space
  • Ability to think end-to-end, and champion the digital eCommerce business while balancing the operational requirements to sustain digital eCommerce offerings
  • Stellar analytical ability with capability to transform data into actionable insights and plans
  • Exceptional ability to problem solve, develop creative solutions, and demonstrate resourcefulness
  • Exhibit “Leadership DNA” to manage and grow talent and able to motivate and inspire and act as catalyst for innovation and change
  • Relationship skills to create a network of contacts within and outside General Motors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience presenting to senior level executives
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing and optimizing paid performance campaigns, paid search campaigns, SEO strategies, retargeting campaigns, and display advertising
  • Familiarity in marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and other digital marketing technologies. Knowledge in managing agencies both for performance and contents
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Customer Experience, including but not limited to Design Thinking, Agile Development, Customer Journey Mapping, metrics and data and analytics tools

    COMPENSATION: The median level of salary compensation for this role is $159,472.20 - $244,254.84 USD Annual

    BONUS POTENTIAL: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
