Nursing Officer (holding the functional title of Nursing Manager) in the HKU Health System of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 523726) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

HKU Health System (HKUHS) is the umbrella executive arm overseeing and supporting the Faculty's clinical enterprises. Our objectives include assuring robust clinical governance in the settings we serve and acting as a central liaison platform with our clinical partners.

Applicants should possess a primary nursing qualification registrable with the local Nursing Council or an equivalent international regulator, and a valid practicing certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. They should have 8 years' or more post-registration clinical experience and demonstrate leadership in the planning and implementation nursing services.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Clinical Centre nursing and administration teams to:

Develop the services of the Centre to support the Faculty's research, teaching and learning, and student wellness.

Direct and maintain the day-to-day services in accordance with the approved service plan.

Establish relevant professional standards / protocols.

Plan and develop professional staffing.

Monitor and continuously improve the overall execution of the Centre's activities.

Promote a positive image with regard to the quality of the Centre's services.

Act as the nursing representative of the Centre.

Provide professional nursing support for developing and overseeing good clinical governance in Clinical Service Units under the HKUHS.

Support the delivery of medical consultancy services to District Health Centres (DHC) regarding the development, delivery and quality assurance of clinical services, as required.
